Measurements:

  • dark chocolate (70% cocoa) icon
    60 g dark chocolate (70% cocoa)

    chopped

  • double shot espresso icon
    1 double shot espresso

    chilled

  • Kahlua coffee liqueur icon
    15 ml Kahlua coffee liqueur
  • vodka icon
    15 ml vodka
  • sugar syrup icon
    2 tsp sugar syrup
  • ice cube icon
    Ice cubes
  • scoop chocolate ice cream icon
    1 scoop chocolate ice cream
  • gold leaf icon
    Gold leaf

Instructions

  • 1To melt the chocolate, place the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of barely simmering water. Don't allow the base of the bowl to touch the water, so the chocolate doesn't overheat. Stir occasionally until melted.
    Tip: Chocolate can also be melted in the microwave.
  • 2Remove the chocolate from the heat. Dip a martini glass into the chocolate to coat the rim.
  • 3Place the chilled espresso, Kahlua, vodka and sugar syrup in a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice and replace the lid. Vigorously shake until combined.
  • 4Strain the contents of the cocktail shaker into the prepared martini glass. Add the ice cream and garnish with gold leaf.
